A lovely time in Hull

Tony and I stayed overnight in Hull. We'd driven down yesterday to visit the Open gardens in Preston village. Today we went over to the Humber Bridge to have a look at this amazing construction.  There's a beautiful park with an old mill right next to the bridge. In front of the Windmill was a colourful Rat sculpture and I took a picture of the information card to remind myself what the significance of the sculpture was.

Here's the mill with the sculpture in front

This is a photo that I took of the underside of the bridge. It's running off onto the distance over the river Humber

This is Tony with the bridge in the background

This row of pretty little cottages line the road next to the river. Aren't they cute.

After we'd seen the bridge we went into Hull's town centre. The architecture is absolutely stunning and we're planning a return visit next year.

    1. There's a huge flood defence system all along the river. I bet flooding would have been a major problem before it was installed

  2. I'm glad you had an enjoyable visit. I've never been to Hull, but I did visit a windmill myself this weekend. Xx
