Tony and I stayed overnight in Hull. We'd driven down yesterday to visit the Open gardens in Preston village. Today we went over to the Humber Bridge to have a look at this amazing construction. There's a beautiful park with an old mill right next to the bridge. In front of the Windmill was a colourful Rat sculpture and I took a picture of the information card to remind myself what the significance of the sculpture was.
Along the lanes I'd love to wend, near Artist's Mews, on Writer's Bend. Where fragrant flowers of every hue sparkle in the morning dew. I wish I lived in Carver's Valley, Quilter's Creek or Cross Stitch Alley. Just think of all the things I'd make, if I lived by Crafters Lake.......... love those little cottages.......wonder if they are in risk of flooding?
ReplyDeleteThere's a huge flood defence system all along the river. I bet flooding would have been a major problem before it was installed
DeleteI'm glad you had an enjoyable visit. I've never been to Hull, but I did visit a windmill myself this weekend. Xx
ReplyDeleteWindmills have such character and history don't they.
