I'm invigilating this morning but it doesn't look as though the student is going to turn up. This is a regular occurrence and for many years while waiting I've sat and twiddled with a lump of Blu tac. I sculpt elephants, dogs, cats teddy bears Giraffe etc. Then I pop them in the invigilator 'red bag' for the next person to find. It makes me smile when they say that they couldn't bring themselves to squash the little animal. Many have taken them home and I'm told time and time again that it makes them smile to find a little sculpture in the bag. Several people tell me that they've started a little display on a shelf and look forward to finding a little blue tac animal.... It passes the time while I'm waiting

That sounds like the best possible use of your time - leaving a smile and a hug for the next invigilator to find.
ReplyDeleteI love hearing from someone that found one in a bag. There's probably forty or more invigilator bags so it's very random that someone will find a little sculpture
DeleteWhat a fun thing to do! :)
ReplyDeleteIt passes the time nicely.
DeleteThat is such a sweet thing to do. I would adore finding one of those :)
ReplyDeleteIt's fun making them and every one is different. I've made tiny crates of fish too. Just a bit of daftness but it does make people smile.
DeleteCute sculpture! I've often wondered, do you have to stay there until what would be the end time of the exam? X
ReplyDeleteIf the student doesn't turn up we have to wait half an hour before leaving... it useď to be an hour. We still get paid the full amount.
DeleteHow lovely for the next person to find one of your little creations in the red bag.
ReplyDeleteOh that's irritating when they don't show up! At least you still get paid.
ReplyDeleteThe little animals must be lovely to find, something to make the next person smile!
