Although it's bitterly cold out today the sun is shining and the sky is deep blue. I've been busy since 6.30 this morning. Washing is done, windows cleaned, veg picked and prepped and I've even given the living room carpet a damp scrub over with a bowl of scented water and a scrubbing brush. It always looks and smells lovely when I do this. It really brings the pile up nicely. Yesterday I had a meeting at the town hall just to verify my identity for the upcoming elections. Did I day that I'll be manning one of the polling stations. While there they asked if I knew anyone else that might be interested.... long story cut short.. Tony and my friend Brenda have also signed up for it. It's a very long day but the pay is good... £200 so if you are looking to make a little money it's worth getting in touch with your town hall to see if they need anyone.
Glad the day was sunny, even if a bit cool. Remember........spring is on the way. I did election work on & off from the eighties onwards, though not always when I was in full time employment. I've not done any now since we moved back here in 2015, though I've tried, but they have lots more people on their list now & my age comes into play too (ugh). It is a long day, but great pay.
