Baking session.

Tony and I nipped up to Boundary mill in Shiremoor to do a bit of shopping today. I tried a few things on but didn't actually buy anything although Tony bought a couple of  things.  After we'd had our fill of shopping we went for a pub lunch and had the most enormous piece of steak and kidney pie I've ever seen.  I took all the pastry off as I am avoiding carbs as much as possible but Tony ploughed his way through his piece. We hadn't made any plans to go to Boundary mill and I'd lifted a block of frozen pastry out of the freezer last night so have had to use it up tonight baking all manner of goodies.  I've cooked huge sausage rolls, cheese pasties and there's more cheese and onion pasties in the oven as I type and a quiche will be going in next . Tony has had to try the sausage rolls of course but the rest of my batch bake will go in the freezer. It will come in handy if Tony fancies something with a pastry crust. I can take it or leave it so tend not to buy pies and such like.  Tony is a happy pastry filled man tonight. I used Double Gloucester with chives and onions for the cheese pasties and they are massive. One will easily feed both of us with a good hearty salad
