We've been over to Northallerton for a wander around the shops today. While we were there Tony bought me a gorgeous Christmas scarf and a knitted Christmas hat. I was delighted when we got it home to find that the hat has little battery operated lights all over it. Tonight we had the kids over for their first meal with us as a married couple. I cooked a lovely piece of roast beef and plenty of fresh picked from the garden veggies. The Yorkshire puds were enormous but I didn't have any as I am sticking with the low carb diet as much as I can. I roasted some home grown Jerusalem artichokes and they have both been well warned about the wind inducing properties. They hadn't tried them before and both agreed that they tasted like a really tasty roast potato.
Tomorrow Tony and I are dog sitting for my friend Jayne's son Kristan who is getting married on Saturday. We are having the little French bulldog until Sunday teatime and are looking forward to having a little dog in the house. We love dogs but animals are so tying that we don't want to own any as we like to enjoy short breaks away from home.
