My lovely day with friends.

I've been out for lunch with friends today only to find that the little place we had chosen wasn't serving cooked meals due to a family emergency.  We plumped for a sandwich and a slice of cake and very nice it was too. Then it was back to mine for a few games of Rummikub and a good long natter.  After the girls had left I rang my neighbour Joan and she popped in for a cuppa and we spent a couple of hours putting the world to rights. My friend Jayne is calling in later and then Tony is off to the pub this evening so I think an early night is on the cards.  We are travelling light this weekend so there isn't much in the way of packing to do. I always pack far too much but this time I am being strict with myself. The torrential rain that was forecast hasn't materialised so far but it's starting to cloud over now. It'll save me having to water the garden in the morning if we get a good downpour.
