I'm going to blame the glorious sunshine for tempting me outdoors these past few weeks as I can't remember the last time I did a deep clean anywhere here in Kemp Castle. It was in serious need of a thorough clean so this morning I rolled up my sleeves and got on with de coking the kitchen. I even took the cooker hood apart and gave it a good scrub before replacing the filter... first time I've ever taken it apart.
Then I potted on some rooted cuttings of Sarcococca. (Christmas Box) It has rooted well in a bottle of water and will produce divinely scented flowers in the colder months of late winter and early spring. If you like fragrant flowers then it's certainly worth looking out for in your local garden centre.
Tony has started another project and the first part of it can be seen over on my gardening blog if you fancy a little look. We do like a good upcycle and it is great to think that something earmarked for the charity shop will be put to good use here in the garden.. We had planned on going out for tea with Alexander and Beckah but Alexander cancelled as he isn't very well. We'll reschedule next week some time when he is feeling better but it's crazy that our first thoughts these days are the dreaded Covid. He's double jabbed but still did a test which gave a negative result.
Good on you with deep cleaning, something I'm lagging on at the moment too. Hope Alexander soon feels better & even when we cough or sneeze, the first thought for most people now is Covid. I must get a Saracocco as I enjoy the perfume too. Take care & hugs.
ReplyDeleteI'm gradually working my way through the house room by room.
DeleteI'm glad Alexander isn't covid positive, that must be a relief.
ReplyDeleteThe kitchen looks great!
