I am amazed that the lupins all came back this year as I really hacked them down back in the Autumn. They clearly like a bit of rough handling... I wouldn't care but they don't really flower for long enough to justify the space. I may dig them out and do a bit of gorilla gardening in the neighbourhood as we have a large field that would look pretty edged in lupins and flag iris... Yup, My flag Iris are threatening to take over the border in the front garden and need a bit of judicious thinning. The far side of the field would be a good spot for them. A lovely chap has been planting fruit trees there. He's added an apple, a cherry, a plum, a pear and an apricot. Nobody goes to that side of the field but in a few years time there'll be a mini orchard... If the local Authority don't decided to put houses there.
The lupins look lovely and I like your idea of some gorilla gardening. Take care & hugs.
ReplyDeleteThe lupins are a delight, so pretty.
ReplyDeleteThey do look lovely though. Nevertheless I do like the idea of a wild orchard andan abundance of flowers, I would like to see photos of that if you ever get the opportunity . Keep well. Amanda x
