Well the ladies were well and truly squished and squashed yesterday and it hurt like the blazes. It's not a particularly comfortable procedure but it's never actually hurt before. Oh well that's over and done with for a couple more years. On Friday I am having my hair trimmed and then Saturday I have an eye test. I reckon that by then I reckon I am well and truly MOT'd. I did get a couple of nice tops in town so it was worth the journey in. I did nearly 14000 steps too so added bonus.
Last night Tony lined the planter with polythene and filled it up with a good layer of bark chippings and a layer of compost. I added some grass clippings on top of the bark to aid the break down. The bark will gradually break down but will hold onto moisture while it's doing that and the grass clippings will aid the process. All I need to do today is trim a bit of the polythene and then the planter can be left to just get on with it. I reseeded the bald bit of garden yesterday as the grass seed I'd put down looks really patchy. Hopefully it will be through in about a week.

I am glad it is all over for you . I am bit of a way off for that thank lord, but we have yearly MOT tests in Japan which are fun and can scare the pants off you as the doctors give you the results and tell you to change your lifestyle, but ours is pretty healthy anyway. But when I explain I have EDS, they just back off and leave me alone, plus we pay for them.
ReplyDeleteBut I am glad you managed to treat yourself at the end of it. That always brightens me up, plus I am pretty used to hospitals as I almost live there. Love what you did and the end result is awesome take care
Thanks Allie Jane. The garden gives me so much pleasure...... and lovely fresh food
DeleteTony's done a grand job with that planter! I love geraniums, it's going to look fantastic in a few week's time. x
ReplyDeleteNot bad for an old shed door. x
DeleteWe turned our old shed into a leaf mould and a compost bin! The wood was too good to waste. xxx
DeleteLooks lovely Cherie & look forward to your before/after photos tomorrow. You sound like me with appointments. I'll tell about some in an email, but I have a haircut on Thursday & can't make up my mind whether to have a trim or go back to my old style from a couple of years back. Procrastination! Indoor day again here with snow even forecast for Queensland, the Sunshine State, well to our north. Enjoy your warmth, take care & hugs.
ReplyDeleteYour garden looks like a lovely place to relax and enjoy. Hope the weather is good so you can enjoy it often!
