Addicted

What can I say?  I am addicted to stitching hexies. They are so lovely to sit and stitch while watching TV. The hardest part is the prep because once they are prepped it's a lovely little project for 'on the go' stitching. I sat last night and prepped a vast pile of them and oh was I glad of my quilters glue pens. I can just imagine the time it would have taken to pin and tack each one. The glues pens are worth every penny and they save so much time. I bought my 1 inch paper templates on ebay and they cost £4.99 for 500. They have  saved me hours of cutting out.  I went back on this morning and bought some more in different shapes and sizes as I wanted some smaller ones. After prepping them yesterday I sat and stitched these little flowers. There's plenty more ready prepared hexies to keep me going for a while.

    1. I saw one of the You Tubers using a glue pen and knew how practical it would be. I ordered a load of refills at the same time.

  2. Hexagon tessellation is so pretty, I've always loved it. Your colour choice is so lovely too.
I've never heard of a quilters glue pen. Must research this! I feel some hexagon patchwork something or other coming in! It's all your fault, of course! :-)

  3. Oh my, those are SO pretty! I imagine you smiling as you work on them. I think they could look lovely all around the hem of a summer skirt and one on a plain white top to match up!

    1. That's a nice idea. It never crossed my mind to sew them onto clothing.

  5. It's been 25 years since I stitched a quilt. Love your idea of using a glue pen and little templates to get fabric pieces to cooperate and avoid leaving pins all over the house. Are your templates sticky? Thanks, Lorraine

    1. The templates aren't sticky until I run an edge of glue around the sides. I still did pin. When I had a stack of them I used the glue pen to fold the fabric over. Have a look on You Tube.
