Enough is enough

I shall start by apologising for being a whingeing Brit but I am going to do what we Brits are really good at... Moaning about the weather.....for heavens sake please let it rain.. I can't stand the heat any longer.  I may have melted by tonight. I watered the garden at 06:30 this morning.. Just enough to keep if from drooping but not the really good soak that it could do with.
Just been for a walk with my hubby to look at the cherry trees. Due to lack of rain, the leaves are looking pretty sickly and the fruit on most of them is quite small.  We spotted one really healthy tree so will pop back on Thursday to collect some of the fruit.   Cherry Brandy will be made with some of it.. Then I might make some cherry jam.... but then again we might just eat loads of them and freeze the rest. The hazelnuts look good on some of the trees. If Mr Squirrel will leave them alone we might be able to have a few. There are two walnut trees locally and I am keeping an eye on them to see when they are ready to harvest. Why oh why don't local authorities plant edible trees In the local parks. They could have all manner of fruit and nut trees instead of conkers and oaks.
