I don't know whether I've ever mentioned that I am a huge fan of steam trains. Last year we had the privilege of taking a ride on the replica of Locomotion. We'd stayed overnight in Pickering and thoroughly enjoyed the train journey the following day. If we lived a bit closer to a heritage line I'd be volunteering there. I can just imagine floating about in one of the beautiful dresses of the time. I would'nt be averse to getting my hands dirty learning how to look after the train either. Or perhaps working on keeping the station looking it's best. If you didn't see my video of Locomotion here's a little reminder.

They are certainly a bygone of eras gone by. They have one here that runs at Christmas. I'd love to go ride on it. It's quite a way away but it's on my to-do list! There's something magical about the steam coming out the top lol
ReplyDeleteThere is something very special about a steam train. We have booked for a ride on the ' Flying Scotsman' in a few weeks time. A bit of a treat for hubby and myself.
