Black Russian tomato

I've just been out into the garden to harvest some tomatoes and have had to pick this Black Russian one.  It was starting to get attacked by pests and I don't want to lose it. I'd hoped to leave it ripen on the plant but unfortunately that wasn't meant to be.  It weighs in at an impressive twelve and a half ounces. There's another even bigger one still on the plant and I hope to get it closer the the one pound mark. Next year I'm growing Black Russian to hand out to fellow wood carvers for the growing challenge.  This year we all grew Kelsae onions that I'd grown from seed. If any of my blogging friends would like a few Black Russian seeds to take part in the challenge let me know. I'll send some out in the post to you.

  1. I grew similar last year and the bugs ate them all.

    1. I think it's because they're such mis shaped ones. Plenty of nooks and crannies for the bugs to hide
