Welsh rain

We've just had a good soaking of what I like to call Welsh Rain. I grew up in South Wales and remember how the rain would absolutely hammer down even though it was warm and sunny. It came from nowhere,  soaked everything and disappeared as quickly as it arrived. My garden looks all scrubbed clean as though the rain has washed years of dust from the leaves of everything.  Do you remember when the hedge was barely more than some scrubby twigs.  Hard to believe that it was nearly six years ago that Tony and planted it.

  1. It seems to me that it used to rain in a very pleasant, light, drizzly kind of way. Its impact on the ground was soft and the soil absorbed the life-giving moisture. Now it seems to be either deluge or drought, and the ground becomes so hard the hard rain just bounces off and runs away as though on concrete, taking a little more topsoil with it.

    1. We rarely see drizzle nowadays. The kind that has you soaked through before you realise it.

  2. Your garden looks fantastic.
It poured with rain here, as well. It was much needed. X

  3. It's been raining here for an hour or two. I'm enjoying watching it from inside. Kind hubby took veg peelings down to the compost for me.
Your garden does look like it has been scrubbed clean by the rain. It looks fantastic.
