Tomatoes are ripening faster than I can deal with so I've simply given them a good rinse before bagging them up for the freezer. Today I froze 9lbs of them in individual 1lb bags. The wood arrived yesterday to create a raised bed structure in the front garden and Tony is in the garage applying wood preservative. There's no rush to finish the structure as we still have plenty of produce growing in pots where the structure will go. It would be a crying shame to waste it.
We've been to look at buying a new fridge freezer as our current one keeps icing up. We were staggered to see we've had it nearly five years. In truth I think we probably damaged it by keeping it in the garage where it gets far too cold in the winter. We'd made an enclosure with insulation and ran a little heater just to keep it warm in there.. utter madness I know. We've also been to an office supply store to look at furniture for the new craft room. We've seen a range of furniture that we like the look of and it's really sturdy.

Those will be delicious to toss in a soup or stew when it gets colder.
ReplyDeleteI think so too.
DeleteIt's like an episode of The Good Life :)
ReplyDelete;-) It certainly is.
DeleteYour tomatoes are looking so good. I shall be doing the same thing with some of my tomatoes and freezing them.
