The wood has had two coats of preservative and hopefully today if the weather holds out we can make a start putting the structure together. We've booked a run to the household waste site this morning and when we get back we'll move all the moveable pots from off the garden. I've a tub with leeks in that will just collapse if I move it so I'll make a leek and potato soup or gratin depending on my mood.
The grapevine that I planted in memory of my best friend Marian has suddenly taken off so Tony put some big chunky vine eyes to hold the string support. One branch of the vine is now happily romping its way along it and it won't be long before the second branch does the same. I'll limit the bunches of grapes on it as they develop in the coming years as it's only growing in a very large tub. The grapevine in the back garden is covered in bunches of grapes and I hope to be able to harvest a bunch now and then for a little while before I have a major harvesting session. I'm planning on freezing some of the bunches in single portions and juicing the rest..
