Woohoo, my state pension has finally started. Last night I treated Tony to a meal at the gorgeous Whinstone View bistro. I've been a few times with friends but Tony hadn't been in close on twenty years. Whinstone View is set in the most beautiful grounds and the stunning scenery all around make for some beautiful photographs. If anyone is looking for a wedding venue then I can wholeheartedly recommend the venue. The food is absolutely gorgeous. While we were eating our meal one of the young waitresses had loaded a tray with beautiful jewel coloured cocktails for a photo shoot. When she came back inside with the tray she offered us both a free cocktail as they were only going to be poured down the sink. Tony declined as he was driving but I thoroughly enjoyed mine. For dessert I chose the cookie dough and ice cream. It was so yummy that I was gutted to discover I couldn't eat it all. It was very very rich and chocolatey.
The staff are all young girls and they're utterly delightful. I love to see the staff smiling and friendly. These young girls could teach many a sour faced waitress a thing or two.

How lovely - the place, the food and the free drink! And nice to have very pleasant staff too.
ReplyDeleteIt's become my favourite place to eat. It's not the cheapest but it's well worth the expense now and then
DeleteIt looks lovely, and the free cocktail must have been a pleasant surprise. Xx
ReplyDeleteIt was a lovely treat.
DeleteGlad the pension has come though and you can plan lots of good things together. Hubby's pension starts in the next few weeks and we already have plans!
ReplyDeleteSounds like you had a lovely meal out and great to have such friendly staff. Free cocktail as well - a perfect evening.
We've lived fairly frugal lives up to now. Time to kick up our heels and have fun
