My best friend had a good send off today. Her lovely family included me in every aspect of her funeral and I've been surrounded by so much kindness and love today. They're closer than family to me and Marian would be so pleased to know this. I just can't get my head around the fact that I'll never see her again. She's left a whacking great hole in Tony and my life. We can't imagine a ceilidh without her.
I'm going to start walking again tomorrow morning though it won't be the same without her. I don't want to walk with a group but will cherish the early morning and think of Marian as I stroll along the routes we used to take.
Sending warm thoughts. True that some things are never the same and may be challenging without a loved one.

DeleteI will be thinking of you as I do my morning walk tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteThank you. I'll be setting off early and try to recover a sense of normality.
DeleteGod bless you and Tony. As you say, walk and remember your friend. x
ReplyDeleteThanks Kay. I'm sure that Marian will be walking alongside me
DeleteThinking of you & sending hugs. Your weather is warming as ours is cooling, so look forward to seeing what happens in your garden and beautiful Yorkshire.
ReplyDeleteThanks Susan. The garden is looking lovely just now.
DeleteSending hugs. I'm glad you were included in your friends send-off. It just goes to show how much her family knew how important you were in her life. I hope you enjoy your walk.
ReplyDeleteThey've been in touch every day to make sure I'm OK. I can't get over how kind they are.
DeleteSending lots of love, Cherie. Xx
ReplyDeleteThanks Jules
DeleteIt's hard to move ahead but we take them with us in our hearts.
