A lovely leg of lamb

Sainsbury legs of lamb are half price at the moment.  We called in and bought two last week so I invited my friend Ann over for Sunday lunch. Poor love last her husband two years ago... on the same date that Marian slipped away.  I know losing Marian has stirred up her grief and I didn't want her to be on her own at the weekend. We had a delicious meal and my Yorkshire puds were enormous.  The afternoon was spent playing Rummikub and Trionimoes. If you haven't played Trionimoes before it's simply a three sided version of dominoes.

Yesterday Tony was doing his NT volunteering all day so my friend Jayne came over for the morning.  She's just retired and we're hoping to go walking at least once a week. It's a long time since I went for a good long walk and it'll be good to get back into doing that.

My 'get your state pension' letter arrived the other day so I had a wander down to the library yesterday afternoon and did the online claim form. It'll be really strange to have regular money going into my bank account. There's an incredible project called 'Greening the desert' and I'd like to set up a regular payment to them or a similar project in Africa. I need to do a bit more research before I commit but it seems like an incredible project. We really don't appreciate how very lucky we are in this country. We take so much for granted and it's so easy to focus on the negative isn't it.

  1. There's an organization that supports access to water into homes or at least into a central place in a village. I want to research that as water is such a basic human right. Please share what you determine are worthwhile and ethical charities. I'm so worried about humanity across the world with governments deciding human rights is an unaffordable luxury. I want to do my part even if small. I bet Ann appreciated the invite. The two year mark for my husband seemed forgotten, beside by me and my children. I suppose life has to move forward for all, but kindness is always welcome.

    1. It feels so unfair that some have so much and some so little. I wish the world was a kinder fairer place
