It was bitterly cold when we set off for work this morning but it's pleasantly warm in the exam room. Or at least that's what I thought. Students have complained that it's freezing... They set their thermostat to 26 degrees in their student houses. We set ourselves at 17 at home. I'm glad I'm not paying their bills. I was hoping for the day off tomorrow but I've been asked to cover an exam. It all adds to the savings kitty.
Goodness, they must be so overheated! I can't imagine 26!!

DeleteBrrr, if my conversion is right, you set your temperatures in your house to less than 64° F. I'm used to cooler house temps, but you me got me beat by a few degrees as I have mine set to 65, which I think might be 18C. I would be roasting with those student house temperatures.
ReplyDelete18 would be too warm for me. I'm used to being out in the cold so had to toughen up.
DeleteOur thermostat is set at 17 degrees too. I think If it was at 26 degrees, hubby and I would think we were in the tropics.
ReplyDeleteThe exam room was set to 24 when I arrived. I've dropped it to 20 as I know the students like it much higher than I do
DeleteMe, too, Cherie. Wearing layers of hand knits really helps. I love the lap blankets, that I knit for my parents, too.
ReplyDeleteI'm really starting to appreciate layers as I get older
DeleteThat's pretty hot, though I have mine warmer than 17. Our bill is quite high, I do wear layers and try to keep moving, but I'm not going to be cold in my own home. We keep ours about 19/20.
ReplyDeleteI totally agree. I'd turn it up if I was cold. I got used to much cooler temperatures in a previous job. The building was absolutely freezing so now 17 feels toasty warm to me.
