Tony and I have no idea where the days are going lately. Our lovely elderly neighbour was admitted to hospital on Friday and we've been to visit her almost every day. We've been so worried about her and thought we were losing her. We were so relieved when we visited her today to see a slight improvement. We've been taking little treats in the hope we could get her to eat and thankfully the hospital are now giving her fortified drinks. Joan has no family and distant relatives live in Somerset so we've been keeping them informed of her progress. If she continues to improve they hope to move her to a rehabilitation facility in order to build up her strength. Fingers crossed that it's soon and she can return home at some point. I will get back into crafting at some point but Joan is our main priority now.
You're a good neighbor and friend. Joan must be special to inspire this attachment.
ReplyDeleteJoan is lovely but I'd do this for anyone who lived alone. It breaks my heart to think someone could be so poorly with no one to take care of them.
DeleteSorry to hear about your neighbour. That's so thoughtful of you. I think it's the caring of another that sometimes helps them pull through. I hope she gets better soon. Hopefully when she gets to the rehab you can still visit.
ReplyDeleteRehabilitation locally will be cheaper for us than hospital. The car parking charge at the hospital is ridiculous.
DeleteWhat lovely neighbours you are . . .I'm sure Joan and her relatives really appreciate your help. xx
ReplyDeleteThat is such a very special thing you are both doing - you are lovely neighbours. There are so many people that are far away from any family these days, and as you get older it is something that is of great concern.
ReplyDeleteJoan is such a lovely lady. We will do whatever it takes to get her well again.
