This morning Tony and I went to visit Locomotion which is the railway museum in Shildon. It's a fantastic place for train enthusiast's and best of all it's free. Tony had a slice of millionaires shortbread with his hot chocolate but I am a paragon of virtue and resisted the temptation. To be absolutely honest all I'm craving is lovely fresh salad. When we got home I nipped out into the garden and picked a whole pile of gorgeous fresh stuff and threw some salad boxes together. Details on my gardening blog if you're interested but here's a quick picture of my lunch.
Along the lanes I'd love to wend, near Artist's Mews, on Writer's Bend. Where fragrant flowers of every hue sparkle in the morning dew. I wish I lived in Carver's Valley, Quilter's Creek or Cross Stitch Alley. Just think of all the things I'd make, if I lived by Crafters Lake.......... How nice to find a free place to visit, not many about! After eating a lot of carby stuff for the past few weeks, I too am craving fresh fruit and veg.
ReplyDeleteLocomotion is a fantastic place and we've been several times.
DeleteAdmirable! I am slicing up fruit for my lunch later, with celery and hummus. I'll need a few groceries, but will go later when husband is home.
ReplyDeleteI really don't need to food shop for months as my store is full. I'll just need milk and cream which Tony can pick up on the way home. That way I can resist the temptation to buy junk food.
DeleteYes, I agree, although that shortbread sounds amazing. Like you, I eat huge bowls of salad each day. I think it is the secret to health.
ReplyDeleteI'm so pleased that I enjoy eating salad. Sweet things rarely appeal to me.
DeleteOh that looks lovely! How nice it is that you can still go out and pick things at this time of year. I've got some salad in for tomorrow. I am looking to some nice fresh veg even in the middle of winter!
ReplyDeleteIt was absolutely delicious.
DeleteThose salads look wonderful! Well done for not having the millionaire's shortbread. xx
ReplyDeleteI was sorely tempted.
DeleteThose salads look lovely. If you're determine to lose that stone, you will! xxx
ReplyDeleteDetermination is my new middle name... or is it fatty. 🤔
DeleteHere is an idea. Stand on the scale and take a photo of the weight you are now. Post it here. Do the same again in six months time. I dare you ;o)
ReplyDeleteThose salad boxes look delicious. You've spurred me on to prepare some healthier lunches this week. Xx
ReplyDeleteSalads look good & glad you have determination. I'm just on catchup as I explained in my comment on last post. Take care & hugs.
