After a couple of hiccups following the instructions of the satnav we finally found the hospital. It is actually a part of Newcastle University and they were all very efficient and prompt. Jayne's procedure took an hour and a half and I'm so glad that I took a book to read. I knew it was scheduled to take that long so settled myself in the waiting room and enjoyed a good long read. Finding our way out of Newcastle was a bit of a nightmare with road closures and a gazillion roundabouts but once back on the long run home we were fine. We each had a bowl of soup from my prepper cupboard for a late lunch and spent the afternoon having a good old catch up which was really nice. Tony and I had sorted one of the food cupboards the other day moving things to the front and discovering all manner of tinned goodies which was really useful as the soup was right at the front of the cupboard. He also got the pantograph out of the loft for me so with a bit of luck I'll be able to reduce the size of the walking stick pattern ready for carving club tomorrow night.
Glad all went well for your friend & you're definitely are good Samaritan. Enjoy reducing the pattern & hope you get to carving club with it. Take care & hugs.
ReplyDeleteThat pantograph isn't as easy to use as I thought it would be. I need plenty of practice.
DeleteThat was so kind you could bring your friend. You were smart to think ahead.
ReplyDeleteI only kept her company. We are a one car family so I don't have a car.
DeleteI'm glad it all sorted out despite the closed roads, etc.
ReplyDeleteSorting out my food cupboard gives me surprises too - you'd think I'd have learned by now! :-) xx
