The nights are really pulling in fast now and it's pleasantly dark and cool in the bedroom. So much more conducive to a decent night sleep. I'll be switching over the bedding to the snuggly polar fleece duvet set that I bought a few years ago. It's wonderfully light and snuggly without being too warm.
This morning I've made even more sauce with the tomatoes from the garden and cooked a gorgeous pork casserole for tea. I was going to empty one of my pots of potatoes but I think I'll just serve it with some plain boiled rice. My elderly neighbour called in to ask if I could book her covid test online and to rearrange the delivery of a parcel for her. We are convinced the postie knocks with a feather and runs away. I suggested that she comes and spends the daytimes with me when the weather turns really cold. She can read a book on my sofa or watch TV or do a jigsaw without worrying about the cost of the fuel. I'll have the wood burner running day and night then so it won't make any difference to me and I know I can just continue to potter on around her.
You sound a very caring neighbour. Arilx
