Today's festive jumper

I spoke with my neighbour this morning and offered my condolences. My heart ached for her as she looks so tired and sad.  It must have come as a heck of a shock as her husband has been at deaths door for so long but it was a heart attack and not his illness that took him.  I've said that if she needs anything at all she has only to ask.  I won't intrude but wanted her to know that we are there for her.

Tony and I have a very busy festively social week this  coming week and I am going to really have to be firm with myself about the carbs. I have several invites for a cuppa and a mince pie, We are going to a local carol service with one of our neighbours where mulled wine and even more mince pies are on offer,  I am going out for a Christmas meal with my whist group and we are hosting a family buffet with Beckah's mum, dad, brother and his wife, baby nephew and Alexander and Beckah of course. We've been to Tesco this morning and bought all manner of lovely food and are really looking forward to entertaining them all.  Much alcohol will be quaffed and I know that a great many carbs will be eaten at the buffet.. I shall be a martyr and suffer  the consequences.  😁

    1. Thanks Vix. I was surprised at how nice this shade of red is because most make me look washed out.

  4. It was good of you to go over to the neighbour's. Sometimes people stay away because they aren't sure what to say.

I am really enjoying seeing your lovely holiday jumpers! They are making me smile.

    1. I didn't go over I spoke to her over the hedge. She's always made it clear that she doesn't welcome people to her house.

  5. Mince pies are so terribly addictive, aren't they. Maybe that's because we only have them around for a short time of the year?

Your neighbour is lucky to have you next door - good neighbours are an absolute treasure. I'm sure you help just by being there.

I love the Christmas jumper - really bright and cheery!

    1. If I have one I know I will want more so I am better off avoiding them completely.
