It was surprisingly warm not freezing cold when I went out for my morning walk this morning and my friend and I both agreed that it's definitely a little bit lighter. While we were sitting playing Rummikub I spotted a present hiding under the tree. I knew it was from my friends Brenda and Brian and was absolutely delighted when I opened it. I love scented candles and shall keep this one for long indulgent baths filled with bubbles up to my armpits.

Alexander text me yesterday to say that he was trying to book a table for us all but most places were closed. He's managed to book one for lunchtime today so we are meeting up with him, Beckah and Beckah's family for a meal. It will be lovely to see them all again so soon. Following the bacon and sausage butties at Beckah's parents they had Christmas dinner with Beckah's family this year. Neither of them are keen on turkey so they were delighted to find that her auntie had cooked beef and gammon which was a nice alternative for them all.
Yum! Delicious food really makes holidays special, doesn't it? I cooked a rack of lamb and baked a gingerbread cake with sweetened whipped cream. Yum!
ReplyDeleteLamb would be my absolute first choice and it's a shame it's so expensive or we'd eat a lot more of it.
DeleteThat's a very lovely gift and I love your idea for how to use it.
ReplyDeleteHave a splendid lunch with your family.
xx
Thanks Joy. Lunch was lovely and we came home very well fed.
