Christmas 2021 day 2... The festive kitchen

The mornings are getting darker by the day but it won't be long before the sun starts climbing again and we can look forward to spring flowers.  I have been to my whist group this afternoon and came away with highest score. My prize..... drum roll please.... A jar of strawberry jam. We are clearly high rollers playing for huge prizes :-)

Today's festive viewing is the kitchen.... And you may recall seeing the soap dispenser house and the Christmas tree shaped scrubby from last year... I bought plenty of those scrubbies😀

The kitchen window has fairy lights all around and the obligatory poinsettia and candle bridge. Of course we couldn't miss a spot for a tiny tree complete with lights. There's two more of our five teapots there too

I have added tinsel to the windowsill since taking this photo. Did I mention the Father Christmas net curtain?

The cookie jar collection is starting to grow as we added the robin this year. The Santa that you can see on the end nearest the draining board is another teapot and number five is nestled among the cookie jars. I forgot to mention the tiny china coffee set on the windowsill and we have a tea for one set that matches the miniature china. I'll use it for my friends cuppa next time she comes to visit. We also have a Christmas pudding shaped tea for one set.

Last but not least is the disposable Covid mask...I bought a packet of fifty last year and popped them into everyone's Christmas card as a bit of fun. It's a sad sign of the times that it's still needed though it did raise a few smiles while we were out shopping this morning.

I wore yesterday's jumper again today so you aren't getting a photo of one today.

  1. I'm enjoying and I love the candle bridge & the plum pudding teapot. A poinsettia might be on my list of something to put on the verandah table over Xmas & I thought you'd cut the scrubby tree yourself. Take care & hugs.

  2. Have you bought anything new to add to the collection for this year? My friend would adore this...we call her Mrs Jingle Bells because she is Christmas mad. She believes that you can never have enough Christmas bling!! Arilx

    1. We have bought a sensor pad that sits under the doormat and belts out Christmas songs when someone stands on it. The robin cookie jar is new and we have switched out all our fairy lights for LED ones. My DIL is taking all our old lights so they won't be wasted. We both have a couple of new Christmas jumpers and I bought Christmas socks for us both.... I need Christmas undies and am on the lookout for some. :-)
