Heatstroke

Tony and I have been digging out a hole for the pond and I had to come indoors and sit a while out of the sun.  I wasn't expecting the weather to be so good and now my face is a lovely shade of beetroot. For a while I felt very sickly and faint.  Digging holes in the blazing sunshine is not a good idea at my age. Must be honest and say I am probably a little foolish as Tony stopes for frequent rests and cups of tea while I continue digging. .We can't work together for very long as the poor bloke irritates the bejeezers out of me and I irritate the bejeezers out of him because once I start a job I want to see it finished and usually  work myself to a standstill while he is snoring on the sofa. Tomorrow if we get it all finished I will do a tour around the garden in pictures so you can see how the pond looks. It's creating a much bigger veggie area for me and is a much better use of the space.  We've had to put the goldfish from the pond into my little breeder tank but it's only until tomorrow when we will refill the pond. I had planned to get rid of the pond completely but can't bring myself to make the frogs homeless.  I hope they appreciate the work I am putting in to save their home..

  1. Hope you feel OK now & you should take a little breather now & then, even if its just for a small drink of water. Funny about not working together well, although we do, it's always to the way he thinks it should be done. Is it a male thing? Probably not as my Mum was the same with me. Look forward to seeing the new pond & I try never to disturb our frogs either. Take care & hugs.

    1. Thanks Susan. Tony is terrible for assuming I know what he wants me to do without actually ever telling me. Then he gets all shirty and annoyed with me. I could wring his neck by the time we have finished a job. He is getting better though.

  2. A tour would be lovely. No pond since the public park one is so clear so close but frogs abound.

    1. Our local parks are a bit of a long walk but I should make more time to visit them.

  3. I do hope you're feeling better this morning - it sounds very unpleasant. Maybe take it easier today?

    1. Much better thanks Joy. Thankfully it's a lot cooler today and the bulk of the hard digging is done.
