It's been a while since I felt like doing any beading but the urge has been upon me these past few days.
I love making these little butterfly necklaces and have them in a variety of colours. Back in my craft fair days I used to make guardian angels to sell and they were very popular. £30 wasn't a lot of money for ten hours work and there were some that understood the amount of time that had gone into a unique gift and others who made the rudest remarks about the prices of some of my things. You need a very thick skin when you are selling at craft fairs and Tony and I very quickly developed one. I got quite a few repeat orders too as I made them in colours chosen by the buyers. Making them was a nice way to spend my afternoons during the winter months

| The angels look so much nicer than the photo. I really must take a course in photography. |
My next project will be a pair of cat earrings and a matching necklace... Just because I can and I have a huge bead stash to work my way through. I've borrowed this photo from the internet to show you how lovely beadwork is. I'm thinking of making black and white ones to wear when I visit Alexander and Beckah as they have three black and white kitties.
I absolutely love those cat earrings!
ReplyDeleteThey really are sweet aren't they.
DeleteYour beadwork is beautiful. The angel picture looks fine. I could easily see the detail and appreciate the work that went into making it.
ReplyDeleteThank you. x
DeleteI have done beading in the past and know how long things take to make.I havn’t done any recently.I find the needle hard to thread and don’t have the same feeling in my fingers. It’s called getting old!Barbara
ReplyDeleteThis getting old lark is no fun at all. :-)
DeleteGorgeous Cherie & I've never tried beadwork, as I'm not good with fiddly, having fat fingers & chillblains in winter, so stick to what I can handle. As for pricing, I've had the same reaction when either quilting for others, making clothes or knitting, all of which I've done in the past for extra income over the years. Look forward to seeing the kitty earings. Take care & hugs.
ReplyDeleteI love beading when the mood takes me. It's really fiddly but so therapeutic.
DeleteHow gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteI would love to buy a set of kitty earrings :-)
xoxo
They'd be unique wouldn't they :-)
DeleteHi,I am looking up at my Guardian Angel that you so kindly sent to me.She is still looking beautiful and takes pride of place next to my brothers photo in my craft room on his shelf. You are a very very talented lady, and have a lovely heart.xx
ReplyDeleteBless you Lee. That was a long time ago though it hardly feels as though a year or two has past. x
DeleteReally gorgeous beadwork. Pretty pretty angel! You are so talented! What craft don't you know? There can't be many LOL! I have tried beading on crochet which is so pretty but really fiddly and needs loads of patience. I'm pretty short of that though :-) Happy Beading! Amanda x
ReplyDeleteThanks Amanda. I do like to dabble. :-)
