Decluttering again

Tony and I have decided to get rid of a big display cabinet that took up a huge space in the conservatory. I dropped 'The Heart Foundation' charity an email this morning and was pleasantly surprised when they rang almost immediately and asked if they could collect it tomorrow.  That really kicked us up the backside to get it emptied and moved into the sitting room for the chaps to pick it up. It's had a better clean and polish today than it's had in months.  We've worked our little socks off all day shifting and decluttering. We're in the middle of a massive 'just get rid of it' moment and while we are in the ruthless mood we're really making great progress.  The conservatory looks much bigger and it's now flooded with light that had been blocked by the cabinet.

The green planter is not staying there, it's had another coat of wood preservative and is drying. The conservatory roof is next on the cards for a good clean and then the spare bedroom. I'm not sure what's come over the pair of us lately. We are quite liking the minimalist look that's starting to appear. Tony did throw in a comment about it being easier to sell???? WHAT?????.. we agreed that we are not moving..... or are we??????... who knows.  :-)

  1. Well done to both of you on your decluttering efforts. I have spasmodic bouts of it, but we should really try harder at our age.(giggle). Take care & hugs.

    1. It's taken us a long time to get rid of stuff. It's wonderfully liberating. xx

    1. I could soon create another garden but it would need to be a pretty special place for me to even consider moving now that my mind is settled.
