Caught in the act :-)

Yesterday I was in the kitchen preparing salads for the next couple of days packed lunches when I saw a young chap dropping a leaflet into our post box.  He stopped and looked at the crop of green chillies that I have growing under the kitchen window and pinched one... Poor kid got the shock of his life when I opened the back door. He got an even bigger shock when I gave him a cucamelon to try and picked him a red chilli and a tomato.  I told him to help himself to tomatoes next time he is delivering in our area. He could only have been about seventeen or eighteen and he whipped out his phone to show me pictures of his tomato plants. He stood for a good ten minutes chatting about what he hopes to grow next year.   It's a good job Tony hadn't seen him though as he would have torn him off a strip. I've warned Tony that a young man might help himself to tomatoes and if he does then he is to go and give him a hand.

    1. There's far more than we can eat fresh and they won't taste the same when I freeze them. It's nice to think young people are interested in gardening.

  2. Whoops, naughty lad, but I'm glad you got talking with him & found out he is interested in gardening. Good to see the young ones having a go, especially with vegetables. Take care & hugs.

  3. One of my neighbors offered me peaches from his front yard on my walk the other day. He told me to pick them whenever I walk by...that he can't eat the all. I am always afraid that someone else will think that I'm stealing without permission. Your garden sounds fabulous! It's so rewarding when it's producing.

    1. I bet those peaches taste far nicer than any I've ever bought.
