Before setting out for my walk first thing I decided to throw a load in the machine to peg out when I got back. I love the fresh smell of line dried laundry but the weather looks set to take a turn for the worse this weekend. I decided to make the most of the sunshine and wash a couple of the quilts that I made years ago. We use them on the sofas as it's so much easier to wash them than it would be to shampoo the sofas. Everyone seems to wear jeans these days and the colour rubs out onto anything that you sit on. Beige sofas probably weren't the wisest colour to pick.
The pink one is a lot bigger than the photo suggests. A bit smaller than a single bed and great in the winter as a blanket to snuggle under if it's a bit cold in the conservatory. I'm currently working on a double bed sized applique quilt. It's a bit of a labour of love as I had never tried English Paper Piecing before I started this. It's such a lovely hobby and fills many a winter night for me.
Don't they look lovely flapping in the sunshine & breeze. I'm looking forward to seeing photos of your WIP. EPP is something I've not done for an age either. Take care & hugs.
ReplyDeleteI have loved the EPP and wish I had attempted it years ago. I always thought it would be really tedious but it isn't at all.
DeleteSuch beautiful quilts and worth every minute of the time it took, I am sure. xx
ReplyDeleteThanks Joy. They were a delight to make.
DeleteThose are such beautiful quilts! How great that you can just toss them in the washer and hang them out to dry...
