The other day at work Tony was asked whether I could make use of a packing crate on legs. His colleagues know he has a home grown salad every day and wondered if we might be able to make use of it as a planting bed before it was disposed of. We've just been to collect it and it's far better than I had imagined. I'm absolutely chuffed to bits with it. Because it is deeper than I really need Tony is going to make a false bottom using some of the wood left over from my old shed. We are planning on painting it to match the rest of the garden's woodwork. It'll be lined with polythene and then I can think about what to plant in it. I had considered putting a hatch on the side to store plant pots but that's possibly a job for another day.
What a nice find! And your idea of using part as pot storage is brilliant 🙂
ReplyDeleteFantastic! What a find. That's great that you an Tony are recycling it for your food garden.
ReplyDeleteJealous, just what I need to save my back & not bend too much when gardening. Take care, stay safe & hugs.
