Yesterday morning I was working in the front garden planting some different bits and pieces in the border. I popped indoors to answer the phone and never thought too much about it until I went to gather up my tools and move into the back garden. Some ne'er do well has pinched my trowel. I have my assumptions as to who took it but it wouldn't feel right to publicly point the finger. Suffice to say there were two flat bed trucks scrounging up and down the street but I am not suggesting for one minute that they nicked it... :-) I've had that trowel nearly thirty years.... well actually it was the little fork not the trowel but I didn't want you to imagine a great big garden fork. Whoever took it must have eyes like a blimmin hawk.
How bloody annoying, Cherie. Isn't it horrible when we have cause to realise that other people don't have the same values we do. I hope your 30 y.o. trowel/fork falls to bits as soon as they attempt to use it (or before they flog it to someone unsuspecting!).
ReplyDeleteI've no idea why they thought it worth taking as it was really shabby looking. I hope they get a splinter in their hand :-)
DeleteI constantly loose my trowel in the garden, I now have 3, so if I can't find one I have spares. In my shed I have my mums trowel and the trowel belonging to the lovely lady who lived next door, I was asked by her nephew if there was anything I wanted from her garden, I don't use either, I would be so upset if they broke or I lost them.
ReplyDeleteI'm usually really careful if working in the front garden. I've learned my lesson.
DeleteSome people can be so petty & thoughtless. Hope it doesn't happen again. I'm like poppypatchwork (above) and tend to lose things in the garden, as I put it down to do something else, then have to think long and hard about what I was doing with it last. Not much gardening here with our frosty mornings & freezing day and seems like constant lockdown, though I do have a jonquil about to flower!!!! Take care & hugs.
ReplyDeleteI'll be more careful next time. Luckily I have another set to use.
DeleteThat’s horrible my mum and dad call them tatters and they are not allowed on their estate. Imagine the fun they would have on there!! They Nick anything they do if it isn’t screwed down.
ReplyDeleteI don’t know why they can’t get a real job.
Tony absolutely detests them. They don't do themselves any favours though.
DeleteWhat a rotten thing to happen. Value isn't just about money, is it? :-(

DeleteOh no! Some people!!!! Grrr...no wonder I don't like people too much lol
