I'd welcome some rain

There. In true moaning Brit style I have said it. It's too blimmin hot and I'd welcome some rain to cool things down a bit. I'm hoping that tomorrow's forecast for light rain is correct. It's far too hot to sit in the garden with my sun hat on and even Rummikub is no fun in the sweltering heat.

Today I've swapped the snuggly warm bedding for the cool cotton stuff in the hope we can sleep a little better.  Tony and I were wide awake at 4.30 this morning.  At 4.45 himself suggested we get up and go for a walk..... so we did. It was pleasantly cool but by the time Tony had gone to work and I met up with my friend for our usual walk at 07.30 it was starting to heat up.

Speaking of Tony.  He bought a 'new to us' car yesterday. It's all clean and shiny and he's chuffed to bits with it. Now he has to remember to fill it with diesel and not petrol.

  1. Hot! In UK, though once when we came over in July, DH had to go & buy shorts & another time we thought the heater was on in the hire car as we drove up to Leeds. For us heat is when it reaches up around the 40deg mark, but we never expect it to be more than 30 over there. May I ask what sort of car, instead of telling DH you've purchased a "red" car. We once had 3 red cars, a Pajero to pull the caravan, my little Nissan Pulsar & of course our Morris ute. Our big car is black now and gets very hot in the summer, so good to see yours isn't black for you hot summer(giggle). Take care, enjoy the warm weather & hugs.

  2. It's a Citroen 'something or other'. :-) I'm sure Tony must have told me which variety half a dozen times but it didn't stick in my brain. I think it was around 24 yesterday... That's hot for us cold blooded Northerners :-)

  3. It's really hot here too. It's going to be in the 30s most of next week and the lows in the 20s. I don't like sleeping when it's that warm. Sigh. We are apparently a lot below on rainfall. Everywhere is so dry. I'm just hoping it doesn't decide to pour when we're camping in a few weeks!

  4. Lol you couldn’t cope in Japan with its 80%+ humidity it’s still quite erm not warm enough for us so we are still walking around with jackets and hoddies on and getting very strange looks but I don’t care.
I am really starting to miss home now but due to Paul’s dad we have extended our stay till the end of July. It is what it as Paul likes to say. He is such a strong person.
