I had the bed stripped and the washing machine loaded before I went out for my walk at 07.20 this morning. Thank goodness it's sunny today as it's really lifted my spirits. I was feeling a bit down in the dumps but soon cheered up once I started walking. My friend and I called into the polling station and cast our votes as it was on our walking route. It was practically empty and we were in and out in minutes. After the walk I re loaded the washing machine and pegged the first lot out. Second lot has just finished so I'll peg that out in a little while. Trying to make the most of the sunshine while it last as I'm not sure what the weather forecast is today. I love the fresh smell of line dried laundry and try to dry outdoors as much as possible. I'm hoping to get the polythene off the low tunnel today. I took it off yesterday morning but we were forecast -2 last night so I put it back on again to give the seedlings a bit of protection.
Next on my 'to do' list was a major re potting session. My cucumbers needed potting on so I did that and then shuffled everything around in the porch to make space for the bigger plant pots. I've just had a cup of coffee and am about to make a start on cleaning the conservatory. It's full of plants and pots and all manner of things that really don't need to be in there. It always looks lovely after a major clean up so I had better get a wriggle on and get on with it.
Thursday is my linen washing day too. I dry most things outside all year round & am lucky to have a line on our verandah too for inclement weather. Your garden always sounds & looks good & with your summer on the way I expect we'll see lots more of it. Take care & hugs.
ReplyDeleteI love walking. It gets me out of my head and lets me forget about my worries. Yesterday was Skype day with Mum. As much as I love it, it also makes me sad as she has changed so much since late January when she had Covid. I stay cheerful on the Skype call but afterwards I would spend the afternoon crying if I didn't get outside again.
