My craft room is taking shape

I've been having a mahoosive chuck out of all my old novels these past few days. I could have sold them on ebay and made a bit of money but that's not the way I roll.  I'd rather just give them away so I offered them for free on Gumtree and handed them on to a lady who will share them out in a sheltered housing complex. I was staggered to find that I had close on a hundred and some of them were hefty hardbacked books.  It's cleared a huge amount of space on my bookshelves. Looking at the now empty bookcase yesterday, I had a brainwave... ouch did it hurt.  I decided that if I emptied the bookcase I use for fabric storage in the spare bedroom/craftroom, I could stack it on top of a chest of drawers. Then I could move the bookcase from downstairs and put it in the same spot.  It could become storage space for crafting stuff and would help keep the room clutter free.  I set to hauling boxes and moving furniture.  Then I dragged the bookcase upstairs and filled it with craft stuff.  I couldn't manage to lift the other bookcase onto the chest of drawers so had to wait for Tony to come home and give me a hand.  That stopped work in the craft room for the day so I went back downstairs and moved the dining table around and rearranged the chairs.  Now that the bookcase has been moved it's created a lot more space for the table

Much more space without the big bookcase.

Ideally I would like to remove the bookcase that is dividing the two areas. It would look lovely and spacious all open plan but I have visions of someone falling backwards over the edge so it's not going to happen

    1. Anona I am shaking my head at you. Tony is more likely to enjoy a beer tour than a cooking tour.

  3. Looking good so far & will we see the craft room too. Show yours & I'll show my new arrangement after getting 2 more power outlets so I don't trip over cords. I like you split level too, as I miss what we had at No.4 with our sunken lounge, though only 1 step down from the entry and also diningroom. Take care & hugs.

  4. I persuaded my husband to give up all his books in favour of a kindle. We took them to a Barnardo's. We were sent an email to say they had made £625.

  5. What a lovely space! It looks so bright and welcoming. I still have a lot of books but yikes, I don't know if I could get rid of a lot of them. I do know that I have some that I'd be willing to part with but I just haven't felt like sorting lately.
