We've had our usual trip to the farmers market in Stokesley this morning and treated ourselves to a cheese scone each. Oh my goodness these were gorgeous. About three inches tall and very cheesy. I topped them with some 'Wensleydale with cracked black pepper' cheese and made mine all pretty with a chopped tomato, a pansy and some mint leaves. It just added a little something extra to the taste and visually it was stunning. Far nicer than my photo shows. Tony just had his with the extra cheese.
I got a lovely piece of beef from the butcher's (Mainsgill farm shop) for tea tomorrow and we have Alexander and Beckah coming over to share it with us. I'm hoping its a bit warmer than it is today but we are a hardy bunch and don't mind wrapping up against the cold. The garden table is in a warm sheltered spot and we can light the chimenea if it's really cold. I hope you all have a lovely Easter weekend and are able to spend some time with your loved ones. With a bit of luck we can get back to some semblance of normality as more and more of us have the vaccine. I can't for the life of me understand why anyone would refuse to have it.. Unless of course they are happy to spend even more time in lockdown and isolation. Give me a jab in the arm any day, I'm more than happy to accept the slight risk involved. Heck, nothing in life is risk free. It's definitely a personal choice but I certainly wouldn't want someone to be caring for my elderly loved ones in a care home if they refused to have the jab.
