if I had a brain I would be dangerous

I have wanted to add some applique birds to the new quilt design but wasn't sure how to applique around the beak as I am really new to this..  Then I realised it's actually dead simple.. Just cut the beak off the template and make it separately. If I had a brain I would be dangerous :-) I intend to add little wings that I will cut from patterned fabric.  I am gradually working on the components for the quilt and thoroughly enjoying the process.

  4. Oh, I'm sure you will work it all out, but I do wish we were closer so I could maybe give you a few tips. I'm not the best at applique (I'm more of a piecer), but have dabbled in quite a few of the techniques, both hand & machine. I am looking forward to seeing it all come together. I'm actually curious!!!!! Take care & stay safe.
