A nice little bonus

I eventually went back to bed just before 4am.  I'm amazed that I wasn't exhausted when I got up but it's been such a nice morning that I have spent a couple of hours working in the garden. All three compost bins have had a good turn over and I have cut  down the Hollyhock as it was looking really rather sad. It's amazed us by flowering right up until today and still had plenty of buds left on that might have opened if they weren't so soggy. My new shed is due to arrive on Monday so Tony has taken three days off work to get it painted and erected. If we knew for sure what time it will arrive on Monday he might have only needed two days off but as we want to paint it before we get it up it was a safer bet to book three days. It'll be nice to have him around and actually have a project rather than staring at the TV.  As soon as it's up I can start turning into a proper garden shed with plenty of shelving for the tools and pots. I am weighing up whether to get rid of the fish pond and turn it into another veggie plot. I figure that I could probably put the space to better use if I grow things that we can eat but I can easily sit for an hour just watching the fish in the pond during the summer months. I'll have to think about that one before I decide what to do..

Tony has just rung me from work to ask which vouchers we would like.  His firm normally pay for them all to have Christmas lunch out but Covid has put a halt to that this year. Each employee is getting £25 in vouchers.  We decided that Asda would be the most useful to us.  That will start 2021 very nicely.

  1. Someone else was saying they've received vouchers instead of a Christmas meal this year. Hubby normally gets a cash bonus but I don't see any if it! The garden is very soggy at the moment, it's all looking a bit glum.
