Three meals for one pound food challenge

I've just been chatting with my Southern Softie friend Anona.  We love a good frugal challenge and I happened to mention that I had seen this on you tube.   Things are really tough for a lot of people just now so this might be useful if only to give you some ideas.

  2. Very creative videos. I love french toast...eggs are very cheap here. Just about a dollar a dozen and in the past they've been as low as 38 cents a dozen. So I'd prefer eggs on my bread to fry. I grew up with a Lithuanian grandmother and my mom used her recipes to feed seven kids on a budget...pierogies, milk soup, pagache, cabbage rolls potato and cheese dumplings, a potato and bacon custard type dish that we called koshi, etc. Cheap ingredients but labor-intensive. 3. I belong to the FB page Feed yourself for £1 a day. There are good tips on there. I also find I can pass on some old fashioned cooking techniques too.
