I've just been chatting with my Southern Softie friend Anona. We love a good frugal challenge and I happened to mention that I had seen this on you tube. Things are really tough for a lot of people just now so this might be useful if only to give you some ideas.
Thank you. Always open to new ideas to make the pennies go round.xxx
ReplyDeleteVery creative videos. I love french toast...eggs are very cheap here. Just about a dollar a dozen and in the past they've been as low as 38 cents a dozen. So I'd prefer eggs on my bread to fry. I grew up with a Lithuanian grandmother and my mom used her recipes to feed seven kids on a budget...pierogies, milk soup, pagache, cabbage rolls potato and cheese dumplings, a potato and bacon custard type dish that we called koshi, etc. Cheap ingredients but labor-intensive. ReplyDeleteI belong to the FB page Feed yourself for £1 a day. There are good tips on there. I also find I can pass on some old fashioned cooking techniques too.
