Not a bad afternoon

After my walk this morning I decided it should be a housework  kinda day. I stripped the bed and got it all washed. Put my lovely new teddy bear fleece set on the bed... not keen on the colour though. It's supposed to be silver grey but it looks a bit pale. Not to worry, I popped one of my quilts on top and it looks fine. I scrubbed the en suite bathroom to within an inch of its life. I've watered plants and moved them to different places in the house. Then I wiped windowsills and skirting boards and prepped Tony's packed lunch and breakfast for tomorrow. He's having a cheese and pasta salad with tons of veggies from the garden and half a lovely big avocado. Those wonky avocado's are blimmin gorgeous.  As are the English Gala apples that we bought from Morrison's.  I think they might well be the nicest apples I've ever eaten. For breakfast he's getting raspberry and rosehip syrup overnight oats with a half teaspoon of Chia seed and some gorgeous wildflower honey.

I'd completely forgotten that I planted tomato plants in the front border so this afternoon I picked all the fruit from them and put the leaves and stems in the compost bin. It's blimmin typical but  I had just put some laundry on the line when it started spitting with rain.  It didn't last and I now have two lines full. It  can have another half hour outside but won't be completely dry. I will put it back out tomorrow or if it's raining I can finish it in the tumble dryer. How's your day been so far?

  1. It's been sunny here so I put bedding and towels on the line....the towels weren't completely dry so they've gone into the airing cupboard to finish off. Tony gets fed well.

    1. Tony bless him will eat whatever I put in front of him. He knows he will have to make his own packed lunch and breakfast if he ever turns his nose up. He's the easiest man to take care of... I just make sure he is well fed

    1. I have days when I pick up a novel and won't move from the sofa until I have finished it.

  3. Sounded a very productive Wednesday. Ours was a little more exciting though as DH needed some different coloured timber & as we can't go to Melbourne, sourced some on our eastern side & off we went. I came away with some goodies too, as the timber yard has also put in a small nursery to see how it does. We then carried on to San Remo to eat our picnic lunch & as we were sitting next to the bridge to Phillip Island, decided to go over(time wasn't an issue for the day) & discovered a new to us walk. We saw a few Swamp Wallabies & 2 Cape Barren geese with the cutest gosling (big smile). Easy tea once home after a surprise phone call from our eldest granddaughter. A really great day. Take care, stay safe & huggles.

  5. Sounds like you had a packed day. Just work, popping to the local combini and feeding the koi. Veggies can be very expensive over here. But yet a take away latte costs 70p!! Crazy.
