A bit disappointed today

I had hoped the glass bottles that I ordered from ebay would arrive today so that I can get on with bottling the kombucha and putting it in the fridge. I've just had a message from the seller saying that he/she needs to cancel my order as the cost of postage was going to be too high to make it worth him/her sending them.  I've had to reorder some from someone else so it will be a few more days before I can bottle it properly.  The bottles that I currently have my kombucha in aren't airtight so the carbonation isn't able to build up.

I got a bit scissor happy last night and gave my hair a good trim.  It looks absolutely fine and has saved me both the cost and chew of making an appointment with my hairdresser as she is a bit off the beaten track and not on a direct bus route.  My friend offered to take me but I am sticking to the covid guidelines.

  1. I had my hair cut a few weeks, ago and she made a right pig's ear of it. I walked out not making my normal regular appointment. I was very lucky and got my swing top bottles from a private brewery that was closing down. 20 x 250ml bottles for £15. I bought some cheap ones for my sloe gin presents.

    1. I used to have a hairdresser come to the house but she was very hit and miss. Sometimes I got a really good cut and other times it looked as though she had used a knife and fork.

  2. Oh dear about the glass bottles & hope this next lot arrive pronto. We are able to get our haircut now in country areas with certain restrictions in place & I've been once since the time I got it cut before we came to UK last year. Yes it does get long & I just tie it back. Take care, stay safe & hugs from down under.

    1. I am growing mine into a bob for my son's wedding next year. I am not in the slightest bit photogenic and though I love the ease of caring for short hair it makes me look as though I have a really fat face. Hmmmmmmmmm, maybe I do have a really fat face :-)

  3. That's disappointing. My daughter made three batches of Kombucha, she loves the stuff, but then let her starter, or scuby I think it is called, die. She decided making it was not a great fit for her lifestyle, and she loves the version the brewery makes.

    1. I have been watching you tube videos and know I will at some point need to make a 'scoby hotel'. I need to make sure the poor thing doesn't die on me.

  4. Good for you. Congratulations on cutting your own hair; I'm impressed. It tried that once, and my bangs were on a diagonal. I hope your bottles arrive soon.

  5. That's not good business on the Ebay seller. I wouldn't be happy. I sell on Ebay sometimes and if I miscalculate the cost of shipping I end up paying it anyway. It's my error. S/he should have calculated the shipping before hand.

    1. I don't think it is a business and in fairness if you aren't used to posting packages you might not realise the cost. I have had my eyes taken out posting things now and then so I understand perfectly how shocked the seller might have been.

  6. WHat a shame about the bottles but at least she let you know. Fingers crossed for the new order.
