Willow weaving course

I'm in the process of booking Tony and I onto a willow weaving course. This morning I contacted the lady that runs the courses and asked whether she ever offers Obelisk Weaving as a session. She has replied saying that she is more than happy to do it as a private session for Tony and I. It's an absolute bargain at £40 each. Crikey, it would cost close on that to buy a sturdy willow obelisk and we will have learned another skill. Hopefully it will take place one weekend in the not too distant future.

If it stops raining I plan to give our beautiful red Lace Leaved Acer a good haircut.  It looks like Cousin It at the moment. I'll pop back later and share a before and after photo if I get it cut.

  1. I thought it was something bad, reading the heading. I did a couple of willow weaving courses not long after retirement and they were fantastic. I'm sure you will love it and what a great outcome too.

  3. I did one too, years ago. Very enjoyable.Bit hard on the fingers. I made a tall floor standing lampshade. Very trendy, haha.

  4. Sounds exciting & although I've done some cane work when I volunteered at Vision Australia, it was nothing big, but small baskets most of the time. Actually I was only thinking about them not long ago & wondered where I could purchase some cane. We can't go anywhere & all craft shows & courses are cancelled now & none even scheduled for next year. Some are thinking 2022 & some never again. Sad!! Look forward to hearing all about it. Take care & huggles.
