Along the lanes I'd love to wend, near Artist's Mews, on Writer's Bend. Where fragrant flowers of every hue sparkle in the morning dew. I wish I lived in Carver's Valley, Quilter's Creek or Cross Stitch Alley. Just think of all the things I'd make, if I lived by Crafters Lake.......... Sorting out all my dresses
When I get back from my walk today I intend to have a massive 'try on' of all my summer dresses. Last year very few of them fitted me as I had really chubbed up due to the medication I was on. Since stopping the tablets I can see the lard melting before my very eyes so today is a 'try them all on' kind of day. Then I intend to iron them and hang them on the rail in the dressing room. All my winter jackets have gone into the wardrobe in the spare room so I have plenty of space to hang them without creasing. What the heck is the point of having pretty clothes that never get worn. I so admire Vix for wearing her lovely clothes every day. I think it is every bit as easy to look a little dressy as to be a scruffy so and so. I shall waft about in pretty cotton dresses while the weather is glorious. I have a few pretty aprons that I can pop on top to keep them clean if I am dusting or cooking. In fact I have enough fabric to make a pinny or two to ring the changes. Must dash now as I need to get out and walk before it gets too hot. Hope you all had a lovely weekend.

You are so right, I am going to have a sort though of all my dresses and start wearing them.
ReplyDeleteOnly you Cherry Bounce, colour co-ordinated frocks and pinnies. You might as well make knickers to match like we had as childrenš¤£xxx
ReplyDeleteI don't do cartwheels anymore so the colour matched knickers aren't necessary :-)
DeleteI love wearing my skirts and dresses when I can. Unfortunately, almost every day is allotment day and that means jeans and jeggings. Oh, well.

I wear a lot of skirts and shorts on hot summer days, but dresses are kept for special occasions of which there aren't many these days. I still wear aprons for cooking & have made my own & some for the grandkids over the years. Twill is good for aprons, being a little thicker & sturdier. Enjoy your early walks, take care, stay safe & hugs.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the mention, Cherie!
ReplyDeleteBrilliant news that you've lost theweight and can get back into your favourite clothes. Wearing a pretty dress does wonders for the self esteem. xxx
