Tony and I are bitterly disappointed that we aren't able to visit the Brightlingsea open gardens this year. It had been our intention to have a few days visiting Brightlingsea and some trips out with our friends Anona and Kim. We've had some smashing holidays down there but my poorly leg put paid to last years planned visit. This year it's the darn Virus. If you are interested in a virtual wander around the beautiful gardens I've put a link on the end of this post. Who knows, you might fancy visiting Brightlingsea next year and enjoying the gardens in person... I know that we will be there. It's a lovely place to treat as a base to visit Essex and there is so much to see within a short distance. If any of you have an open gardens event planned for next year please let me know. Tony and I are planning a few days here and there and it's a lovely way to get the feel for an area.
I've never been to Brightlingsea, despite living in Essex. It looks really delightful - must schedule a visit at some point.

If we visit next year perhaps we can meet up for a cuppa
DeleteK's best friend lives in Essex & we may have gone out to Brightlingsea for quick drive (I think), last year. I've been to Beth Chatto gardens which I thought amazing. Everything has basically been canned here till next year. No garden, quilt or woodworking shows, let alone concerts & all other events that take place. We'll see what next year brings. Take care, stay safe & huggles.
ReplyDeleteBeth Chatto's gardens are lovely. Have you been to the Tiptree jam factory?.. It's worth a visit and the local neighbourhood smells amazing. Whatever jam is being made scents the air all around.
DeleteSorry you've been missing the gardens. Hopefully next year - third time lucky!
ReplyDeleteFingers crossed.
DeleteBrightlingsea is practically on my doorstep. I love the little seaside town, with its outside Lido and quayside. We used to launch our boat on the opposite bank Point Clear. You can get the foot ferry across.
ReplyDeleteIf you fancy meeting up for a cuppa somewhere next time we are down that way let me know. I doubt it will be this year but next year we will definitely be down that way.
DeleteSounds like a wonderful place to visit.
