Along the lanes I'd love to wend, near Artist's Mews, on Writer's Bend. Where fragrant flowers of every hue sparkle in the morning dew. I wish I lived in Carver's Valley, Quilter's Creek or Cross Stitch Alley. Just think of all the things I'd make, if I lived by Crafters Lake.......... Growing stuff
The summer is chugging along nicely thought it has turned quite chilly. I am back into my winter coat when I go for my early walk. At the moment my tomato plants are doing really well. I gave up trying to grow them in the pond as they turned out to be large plants rather than the little bush ones that I had assumed they were. I will certainly try again next year though as I think it's a good way to utilise the space. My current obsession is watching self sufficiency videos on you tube... Oh my word I would love a patch of land. Sadly that isn't Tony's dream so it is never going to happen for me. I will just have to make do with what I have. At least I have the space to grown and create a garden. I would hate to live in an apartment in a city with little more than a balcony. Give me blue skies and green fields any day. Just heading out for a walk and then I plan to make a start on another quilt. I will tell you all about it in another post.

It's good to be glad with what we have, I think. You never know - perhaps one day you will achieve your dream or part of it anyway.

Husband has always fancied enough land for a smallholding (or even a campsite!). But I just think about how we couldn't manage it as we get older and more feeble. It's getting hard enough now to cope with what we've got. It's raining here but not cold.
ReplyDeleteWe are happy with just our raised bed and pots and we utilise a small bit of garden for veg too. Our days of allotment growing days are over, I don't think we'd cope these days. Small is good and manageable, and lovely to have home grown tomatoes.
ReplyDeleteI would love to be self sufficient but as I know that isn't going to happen at my age I am content with doing the best I can. Growing what I can in my garden, using energy sources wisely and reuse, recycle were possible.
ReplyDeleteI would love to be self sufficient but I am content with growing as much as I can and making the ost of what we have.
