It's blowing a hoolie out there

What a change again in the weather. Wind is gusting and the rain is falling.  It will do the garden the world of good though so I really don't mind. My friend has text to say she is going back to bed so we aren't walking this morning.  I think I might just go and have a proper 'buff and defluff' kind of bath before making a start on my day. I've absolutely no plans whatsoever and will just have one of those 'roll with it' kind of days.
Tesco food shop arrived last night and I must say how impressed I am with the quality of the fruit and veg. I think a mammoth cooking session might be on the cards this weekend. I need to check the freezer to see how much space there is. Tony is a happy man today,  I made him a huge prawn salad baguette for his packed lunch.  It's his favourite sandwich and the baguettes were so darn mahoosive that I cut a quarter off and after making Tony's lunch I mixed a couple of chopped crab sticks into the remainder of the salad bowl to make myself a sandwich.

Peppers, cucumber, tomatoes and celery

Onions and courgettes

This marrow has been here for months not weeks.  I really must get around to using it up

My very useful veggie store unit. It's worth its weight in gold

I used to keep my veggie unit in a cupboard but find it so much more useful to have it near the cooker. The cupboard now stores my spare laundry powders and suchlike

  1. Those veg do look good. I've stuffed a marrow like that, but haven't really seen one that big for a long time. Hope your day goes well & we just went with the flow today, as it was dull & dreary, although it didn't rain the washing definitely didn't dry so is now on the clothes horse. Take care, stay safe & huggles.

  2. A storm is passing over us as I am typing this with ferries cancelled for the day. It certainly is a mammoth storm.

    1. I hope you are safe and tucked up inside. It's blowing badly again here. The trees look quite spectacular bending in the wind

  3. I find it's easiest to get vegetables used up if I can see them easily, so a storage unit in a location like yours would be fabulous.
